Harbor Transportation 4 1/2" Angle Grinder vs Makita Grinder Review
How does the $10 (on sale price) Harbor Delivery Angle Grinder run against a Makita $50-60 Angle Grinder? The HF unit actually works fairly well ...

What do all the different people involved in making a movie actually do?

I have an idea for a film which I coin would sell really well. Obviously there are hundreds of thousands of others like me, with a great idea but no method of getting it off of the beach, so I'm harbouring no false illusions of Hollywood stardom! I just have the plot for an entertaining film and would like to part it with others.

The thing is, if I did just think 'sod it,', and went for it, how do I present my idea? In the form of a script/ ideational? To whom, and how? I can't imagine British film studios just letting a nobody wander in off of the street clutching a script!

Who do I wade? A director, studio, producer, what? I have no idea what these individuals actually do! And what would I be, in effect- scriptwriter?

Thanks for your help!

In respond to the title in the question though, here's a link to look at.

  • Have you heard of the website called www.imdb.com (internet movie databse) ?

You should score with them and post this question on their message boards you're bound to get all the answers you need.

    Good luck.
  • You need to wade a producer or an agent.

The script should be typed on ONE side of the page only and must be double-spaced. Each A4 sheet must equate to about 1 minute of shelter time. 90 minute film = 90 A4 pages.

Get a book on scriptwriting from a library - research how the formula MUST be phrased on the page.

Buy the script of a film. Learn from it. Do what's required. Don't give up. (But don't expect too much, too soon).
